Ogutu Safari and guided tours in Kenya - Drive to Kenya, formalities and medical issues

When going to Kenya, you should remember about a few formalities related to entry and your medical safety there.

How to get a visa to Kenya?

First of all, remember to get a visa. The procedure itself is simple and runs very smoothly.

On the website https://www.ecitizen.go.ke/ you can apply for a visa for you and your family. The cost of an adult visa is USD 51. You can pay for the visa online. The forms are simple, you don't need to use the help of intermediaries who charge extra fees. (if you are traveling with us and need support in filling out the form, contact us, we will advise you)

For the visa, you will need photos of yourself, your passport, knowledge of the dates and places of arrival and departure, and confirmation of your hotel reservation. The visa itself is granted within a few hours. But don't leave it to the last minute. You won't get on the plane without it.

Beyond the visa, check current requirements related to Covid-19. Currently (as of Q1 2023) Kenya requires 2 doses of vaccines (or 1 dose Johnson&Johnson) or a negative Covid test.

In addition to these simple formalities, many tourists ask about required/suggested vaccinations and preventive pills.

What vaccinations for Kenya?

We are not medical advisors, but most tourists use common sense in this matter. Consult your doctor at regarding vaccinations and details regarding securing your health during your trip.

What you need to prepare for and protect against is the possibility of encountering mosquitoes that can transmit malaria, which is why many of our tourists are provided with Mugga and take Malarone as a preventive measure.

Ask your doctor how to best ensure the comfort of a healthy and safe trip.

Travel insurance to Kenya

Medical care for tourists in Kenya can be very expensive, so we suggest purchasing travel insurance before departure.

If you do not yet have a broker who will advise you on the best insurance to choose, we recommend the Barbara Broda office (604 255 789), with which many our tourists cooperate. The low cost of insurance will allow you to enjoy your trip in peace!
