The Great Migration
Hello traveler! If you are interested in the Great Migration, you are an experienced seeker of impressions and experiences You probably know exactly what it is, but you can always repeat it 😊.Kenya is known for the Great Migration of animals, during which 1.5 million wild wildebeests and 200,000 zebras cover a distance of over 1,800 miles. (round trip from Kenya to Tanzania)
Migration is a year-round phenomenon when animals move from Kenya to Tanzania and then they are coming back. In the period from January to March, animals move on the Tanzanian side (in the period breeding) in the southern part of the Serengeti, then travel north in April and May, i.e. in rainy season.
Then they cross the Grumeti and Mara rivers and head towards Kenya. On the Kenyan side, the Great Migration begins in late July, early August, when animals come to the Masai Mara National Park from the Serengeti Park in Tanzania.
Migration takes the opposite direction in November when animals begin their return trip to Tanzania.
