Ogutu Safari and guided tours in Kenya - Is it safe in Kenya?
Kenya is an African country with a lower standard of living than what we as Europeans are accustomed to.
Therefore, we automatically assume that it is more dangerous there. Meanwhile, it is a country that does not differ from many countries in this respect which we leave without even thinking about safety issues.
If you follow the basic rules of common sense, you can safely move around the streets of Kenyan cities and villages on your own. Of course, as people of a different skin color, we will be accosted by many local sellers (almost everyone becomes a seller there in confrontation with Europeans) who will offer us their products and services.
We are simply perceived as ATMs with legs and no wonder they are trying to make money off of us.
People in Kenya are very friendly and eager to make contact. With a bit of luck, you can make sincere friends and meet a local culture and, especially by organizing a safari with a local agency (read with us 😊), understand how Kenyans live.
And such awareness will allow us to better understand the world and the place we live in.
What you need to pay attention to are animals, especially monkeys, that roam freely in smaller cities. A meeting with them may end in that... they will take away your fruits 😊. Therefore, we advise you not to wear fruit in plain sight. It's best to put them straight into your backpack.
And the Lions? And cheetahs?
No worries. They won't eat you. During the safari, we ride in safe and comfortable jeeps with a retractable roof. Outside parks and in cities there are no predators. You can enjoy your rest in peace.
If you have any concerns about on-site safety, please contact us. We will organize a comfortable, safe, a unique holiday in Kenya that you will remember for the rest of your life.
