What is Safari and do we need a Polish guide?
"Safari" is a Swahili word that means journey or traveling. It is now used around the world to describe a specific form of travel, namely traveling to wild areas, often to observe wild animals in their natural habitat.
So you don't watch safari. You go on safari. It's a fascinating, adventurous journey. Safari is a popular form of tourism, especially in African countries, where it offers the opportunity to see wild fauna such as lions, elephants, rhinos, giraffes and many other animal species. The safari can be carried out either independently by an off-road vehicle or under the supervision of a safari guide.
Nowadays, the term "safari" can also refer to other forms of travel, such as bird watching or wilderness trekking, and not just the traditional driving safari. Safari has therefore become a symbol of fascinating experiences of discovering wildlife and adventure.
In Kenya, safaris take the form of trips to national parks. It always takes place with a driver and tourists travel in a closed and safe car with a raised roof. You are safe in the car even if animals come right to the door.
Some companies offer travel by van or jeep. We recommend traveling in a comfortable jeep that can accommodate up to 7 people (plus the driver). The program (see programs) includes the so-called "game drive", i.e. going to the park and looking for animals. The car is driven by a qualified driver who knows the national parks, animal habits and where to look for them. The National Park in Kenya is not a zoo, so there is no guarantee that you will see all the animals you dream of. However, if you spend a longer time on safari, e.g. a morning and evening game drive, you have a very good chance of a fully satisfying trip. Safari with Polish guides – do you need a guide in Polish?
Kenyans don't speak Polish. Amazing, right? 😊 The official languages in Kenya are English and Swahili. Some guides and drivers know some Polish words. But even if your driver doesn't speak Polish, don't worry. Our jeeps have Internet access and you can communicate freely with the driver and staff using an automatic translator. You will be sure of effective communication.
You will simply speak Polish into the phone and it will translate your words into English. The driver/guide will answer in English and you will hear the answer in Polish. If it works without a problem in Japan, it will work even more in Kenya, where the official language is English. The only thing you need is internet access. And you have this one with us throughout the journey.
However, if a Polish guide is an absolute necessity, please contact us. We will try to organize your trip in such a way that, if available, a Kenyan who speaks Polish will participate. (something more than a lion, a giraffe, a beer). Welcome!
